I work as a Trainee accountant, I dont deal with Cash or bank accounts. Just figures on a screen I make look pretty every month.

Should I tell my line manager / HR that I am going bankcrupt?

    Best people to ask would be CCCS as they will tell you. I dont personally think it would be a problem but they will be able to tell you for sure.

    It is generally jobs that are regulated by the FSA that are affected. Do you have a HR department, if so give them a ring and ask a general question anomously. Also check your contract.

    Hi Purplekylie,

    You've beaten me to it.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    With ACCA, CIMA & AAT any student or associate has to face a discilpinary hearing if they make an arangement with creditors, or declare bankruptcy; providing there is no evidence of fraud or negligence then there are no problems with continued membership and practice certificates.

    I couldn't find anything on the ICAEW website and I think my membership fell by the wayside a long time ago, so no chance of making some subtle enquiries.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Regards

  • Thanks Richard, at least the fact that they have made these decisions shows that I am not the only one daft enough to want to be an accountant after going bankcrupt!
