Business insurance - any ideas?

Hi Folks

Me 'n' Lil' took out a small business insurance package a couple of months ago. It was only to cover our laptops and a couple of other bits of kit as our home policy wouldn't cover them and we have to work away sometimes. Turns out they (Direct Line) won't let us keep it now we're BR. Anybody ever found a friendly company for such things for impoverished social rejects like us? It's only a couple of grands worth of cover and the premium was well under a hundred quid.

As ever, your wise words and sagacious advice very welcome.

Cheers

I think there are a couple in this thread i set up: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1030595

They might only be home and contents but it still may be worth a phone call.

Thanks k2 but we went through all this years ago with contents insurers not prepared to cover anything that we use for work - even if it's kept at home. Guess I'll have to do the research and add to your list of BR-friendly companies! BL

Hi Billy, I don't know if this will help at all, but have you tried contacting the Federation of small businesses? They might be able to help?

    Hi Billy,

Might be worth giving your local CIS office a call. They used to be very competetive on Business cover and you can ask for an agent to call you.Alternatively try the Co-op Bank,if you have an account with them I'm sure they would be eager to oblige.
Let me know how you go on.
