Question

Hi there, my step son has got himself into a lot of debt and I have a question about this. He is a share fisherman. so he pays his tax bill every year, or at least hes supposed to. We have found out that he hasn't paid it for several years along with his NI. He has also got lots of other debt probably totaling several thousands and the tax/ni is around 15k.

Can anyone tell me if tax bills are included in the bankrupcy dealings or not? If he declares himself bankrupt will these tax bills be wiped within a few years?

Hope you can help me, its worrying the wife a lot.

Regards

Martin

Yes the tax bills will be included in the BR so he will be debt free.

The first thing he needs to do is ring one of the debt agencies and talk through his options with them. Links and numbers in my signature, He needs to do this because the judge could delay his petition if he doesn't.

Oh! and welcome to the board and if you have any questions just ask.
