New Account and JSA

Hi ya
I was made bankrupt on the 8/7/08 and i set up a new co-op cashminder account.
What i havent done is tell the Jobseekers allowance people about the new account details as I only just received all the account details.
I am worried that they will pay this money in to previous bank account which i had on the BR forms as a creditor as it was £500 OD.
I know this account will be frozen and my only money will be the JSA money.
I have only had the court OR phone call and am still waiting for the main call or meeting.
Dont really know what to do at the moment.

Hi Matt
I had the same trouble with my IB. If you ring them up about your JSA and explain they can stop the direct debit going to your old bank, if it's already been sent to that bank, you will have to wait for them to get it back before they can reissue it to you, so ring them as soon as you can. If you have your new co-op bank details you can let them know over the phone and they will soon be able to transfer your direct debit so your money goes in there or send you a giro cheque to cash at the post office until you are sorted.[FONT="]“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” ~ Maya Angelou[/FONT][FONT="][/FONT]0 -
I would call your OR and see if they can get that money to you or allow you to withdraw that from you old account. As that money is needed to live on i cannot see the OR being interested in it. This might be an easier route if you have a helpful OR.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:
