    Why not just go interest only on the mortgage and then make adhoc capital payments whenever you have spare cash? I enquired about this with my mortgage provider (standard life) and it'll cost £35 to change my repayment mortgage to interest only.

    p.s. Make sure you can actually make overpayments without penalties - some allow unlimited, some upto a max of 10% and some don't allow them at all.

    All sorts of weird and wonderful schemes do exist, you know. That's what tax lawyers are for. :)
