How long to wait?

Hi, been thinking about BC – husband left me last month when he found out about 20K debt. I can’t afford the rent etc myself . Should I wait before in serious problem – used savings for the last 2 loan repayments and just enough now to cover court costs.

If I do, I will have to go to High Court London – does anyone know how long the wait is from filing petition until hearing – is it the same day?

Thanks,

    Lisa55,

I would start by calling CCCS or CAB a call first and explain you affairs to them as they will be able to help further and then you will be better placed to know if going BR is right for you.

As for the court you should be able to find you nearest court on the web i dont know the site but i bet someone on here will be along in a min and know it.

There are 2 courts that i see on here ones where you have to make an appointment to take along your petition or drop in's like the one i went to.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the board.

As K2nga says first the thing you need to do is ring of the debt charities and go through your options with them, numbers and links in my signature. You must do this as your petion could be refused by the judge if you haven't taken professional advice.

If you advised that BR is your only option then come back to us and we can offer all the help and support you need to help you through.

If they suggest another option then pop on to the Debtfree Wanabee board and the guys over there will help and support you through your journey

Hi Lisa and welcome to this board. There's lot of help on here so phone one of the agencies given, find out what your options are and then ask away.

We are here to help you get through this whatever you decide.

    Cheers
