Top tips for stress free wedding planning.

My top tip for stress free wedding planning has to be "don,t listen to anyone else".
If you want to look into something or find out about an area dont take anyone elses word for it,find out for yourself.I just, this morning, online, found my photographer, minibus hire and wedding cake maker all in the one street in a little village near my venue. The village I had intended on visiting last Nov while in the area on a wedding factfinding trip but was advised by in-laws who apparantly know the area that there was nothing in Alyth other than a post office so no point visiting. They were so wrong. The weekend trip last Nov ended up being atotal waste of money as they persuaded hubby2b that they knew what they were talking about and I didnt get to visit any of the places we went there to see. There are restaurants, caterers, florists and anything else I could wish for all a few minutes drive from the venue.I am so annoyed that I could have had all this sorted months ago if I had only been more persistent.
So just dont listen to anyone and do what you want from the outset.Thats my biggest stress free planning tiip.

  • Good advice!

My advice as a 2007 bride is not to stress over the small details. You wont even notice them on the day. So if your table cloth is ivory but your cake is white.......DONT WORRY!!!

It all works out good in the end.
If it's not good, it's not the end!

And my advice is, if someone insists you book something and they'll pay... Get the cash off them before you book!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

am i allowed to advocate violent towards future MIL's??????

really mine is to stick to your guns, if you want/ don't want something don't let people change your mind and dictate things, it's your wedding and your decision

Mine is not to worry about what other people think (easier said than done sometimes). It's your day, it doesn't matter if you don't wear white, dispense with speeches and fancy cars. Actually the people who have questioned our decisions the most have been my 12 and 11 year old brothers, I think they have a set idea of what weddings should be like and don't understand why no church or Jaguars!
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
