Can I Get Free Smoke Alarm From Fire Brigade

I live in Wiltshire and just wondered whether I could receive a free fire / smoke detector from my local fire brigade.Im sure i have heard this is possible- Any ideas? Thank you

Hi i live in wales and the local fire station came round they fire checked the house for overloaded plug sockets to check if you were using the old style chip pans etc then put in 2 new (10 yr battery) smoke alarms and said theyd be back in 10 years to replace them. Excellent service well done guys:j

i'm in cambridegshire and my local fire brigade came round last year and fitted 2 smoke alarms per house free. AND we also got a free trolley coin keyring!

I'm in Bury and they came round to do a fire safety house test. They fitted 3 smoke detectors and gave loads of advice.

Home fire safety check are part of a national scheme with the aim of installing smoke alarms in all properties.

All UK fire services are carrying out free home safety checks, and fitting free smoke alarms. So just contact your local fire service.
