We have one freezer shelf for the 2 of us so I sympathise... I actually dream about the day I will have a proper preezer he he....
Anyway we freeze: spag bol, chilli, fish stock (I make this from boiling shrimp & prawn shells, with some stock cube & seasoning), bananas (to then use in porridge), hummus (bought in big pot, then split into little pots to freeze) and also have peas in there. I use the cheap plastic tupperware you can get in the £0.99 store. Normally 10 rectangular ones for £0.99.MFW #185

in terms of where to put another freezer - do you have an understairs cupboard with ventilation - many years ago I had a freezer in my bedroom for several years!0

Where can you get these boxes from?
I got mine (and I think my daughter got hers) from InStore (also known as Poundstretchers). They are called Microtubs. They cost £1 for 10 x 500ml or 8 x 750ml. The size is printed on the bottom, BTW.
Their stock does come and go though. If the 500ml ones aren't in stock when you visit, don't give up. Chances are they'll have some next time.
Some InStores do food items as well, and are good for Batchelors pasta in sauce and savoury rice, OXO cubes, Campbells and Baxters tinned soups, Nescafe instant coffee and TyPhoo tea bags. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

How about asking for a freezer on freecycle and keeping it in your bedroom?Piglet

Zip lock bags are really good for packing flat in your freezer. For example, if you have a block of cheese you can cut it into 8 pieces, wrap each one separately in tinfoil and pack flatly into the zipped back which can then be used more than once." Hi Nicki just to let you know how I work my little space - my freezer shelf is now packed with...
Bag of peas
Bag of sweetcorn
Salmon fillets
Sag aloo - 3 tub portions (each tub will be 2 meals once I pad it out = 6 meals)
Curry base - 2 tubs (each tub will be 2 meals - once I pad it out) = 4 meals)
Fish stock - 2 tubs
Red lentil pate x 4 little tubs (for sandwiches)
Hummus x 1 tub (for sandwiches)
2 x bananas (for porridge)
As you can see, I really can't get anymore onto that shelf...
Our flat is tiny so no extra room but... we do have an outside patio, which technically we could have a freezer in if it would withstand the weather? Could get a cable to run out there... any ideas as to whether that would work? I know the freezer wouldn't love the winter bit if I could get it on Freecycle or pay little for a 2nd hand one... what does anyone think?MFW #185
