I have a non-panasonic breadmaker and I am thinking of buying a panasonic but the wanted to check a few things out first.
At the moment I keep losing the blade in the bread itself, does this happne with a panasonic too?
Wondered what sizes Large and extra large were as my one goes up to 1kg (about half a shop bought loaf).
Thank you in advance for any help

I have a Morphy Richards BM which i have no probs with at all, very happy with it. After reading lots of posts about the blade issue i have chosen to just use the dough cycle and bake the bread in the oven which is great because i can actually make a larger loaf that way.
You could try that before paying out for an expensive BM.....hthMay GC £350/ spent so far

Just checked and I have a Russell Hobbs, been struggling with it since January, just discovered that the only way to get nice soft bread is to part use wholemeal flour.
Tried making dough only - no complaints about the dough itself, probably me but even after a long rise outside of the breadmaker the rolls I made were never really that nice - bearable.
Got a couple of months to decide on this,

Hi wornoutmumoftwo,
I have a Panasonic (not the top of the range - I think it's the SD244?). I haven't bought shop bread since I bought it, although DD (age19) has virtually stopped eating bread now - she hates slicing it!
I've only had the blade stick in one loaf, and that was because I'd only used half the recommended amount of sugar and the loaf didn't rise.
There are 3 sizes of loaf - M, L & XL. I only ever make the medium and I'd say I get 10/12 good size slices from it. The larger loaves just rise more, so in theory you just get 'taller' slices but the same quantity. I guess you could turn the loaves on their sides and cut them that way for more slices, IYKWIM.
Sorry, can't help you weight-wise.
HTH.
