Yes, Amazon have put the price up. I think they have stock-checking software - if there is a big run on an item the system flags it up, then they re-price it. Keep checking back though, they may well go down again.

There are some kids sizes left at £15 if you have small feet, and some ugly ones at £20.

Funny you should mention that - I like the look of Birkenstocks but my feet are pretty horrible so I don't think I'll be getting any. Maybe I could wear them with socks....

There are still some styles for £13.98. I have just bought 2 pairs for £33.96. One pair was £19.98. I always take a 40 which is a generous size 7

Mine just arrived...1pr khaki and 1pr red feather. Yep they are on the big side (39 for a normal 6) but with all straps adjusted they are OK. Was expecting the Birkenstock name on the side though rather than 'Papillio'. (label snob  :D )

Great find...thanks again to OP :T

I received mine today, with the 99p recipe book IN A SEPARATE PACKAGE!!! I went for a size 38, since I am usually a 5.5-6, they still look a bit big, but once I adjusted the straps to the tightest possible, are very very comfy so I think I will keep them. Think I could have done with the narrow fitting, ah well. Need to get home and look in a full length mirror to see if they look as much like clodhoppers as i thnk they do!
  • There are still some available for just over £13...i got 2 pairs when they were cheaper, one with blue angels on and another pair with blue swirls on...they are lovely but they do look rather large...krusty the clown springs to mind ;) makes it worse that i am a size 9 (43)...i find it really difficult to find female shoes in a size 9 so this is a brilliant bargain...thanks op...

My feet are quite wide and the normal is perfect so if you have not wide feet go for the narrow. They do make my feet look big but they are so comfortable so who cares !!
Got 2 pairs today and they look fab one is bright orange and lime green !! Am thinking of looking again for some more. Who said this was a moneysaving site ? I already have loads of sandals !

Just managed to get dd some Birkenstocks for £7.48, so she is feeling very grown up. I also had to treat myself to hush puppies for £8.75 and Fly sandals for £14.99. so thanks for letting me know that Amazon sold all these shoes.
