Does anyone know where to get "warm cushioned" vinyl- looked like wide oak strips?

  • Hi

We installed a cushioned vinyl in our new home called Rhinofloor. It is a wood effect non-slip cushioned vinyl. We have had it down for 2 yrs now and are really chuffed with it. We bought it from Floor Style in Larne.

    Hope this helps

We have a wood effect vinyl floor in our bathroom which we got from Lisnasure/Hanna & Browne. It wasn't on a roll though they were individual strips stuck to the floor. It has been down several years now with no problems at all.
The brand is Karndean, it's similar to Amtico but much more affordable.

We have Rhinofloor (made by 'Armstrong' I think) in the kitchen. Warm (unless you put it down on concrete like we did:( )
Tough stuff tho ... but not tough enough for a husband who likes to drop sharp things on it!

We've got a couple from the Nova range http://www.forbo-flooring.co.uk/Default.aspx?MenuId=1438 . One goes through the kitchen, hall and downstairs loo, with no visible joins, and looks amazing. DS has another shade in his bedroom. Forbo will send you samples.

We've been thrilled with them. They are strong and tough - be careful until they have had some time to dry out and harden after laying, as is usual with vinyl. There's no risk of damage from appliance flooding etc. and I recommend without reservation. Everyone has been surprised when we've told them it's a vinyl. :D

We got ours from Allied Carpets. I'd suggest you go into a few carpet shops, look at the samples and compare the quality.

    Hi- thanks all for comments-
Im after a cushioned texture treliac-(warm to the touch- bit springy)

Ive sent off for a few samples so will know more in a few days

Please report back when you've got the samples.

IMO it meets all your requirements. We had a cheaper and more cushioned one than this beforehand, but in no time at all it was pitted and marked.

The Nova is quite expensive but we've been delighted with its 'performance', feel, comfort and appearance.

Probably didn't need this quality for the bedroom, but wouldn't now go for anything else. I forgot to say, we've got another, from the marble tiled effect range, in the bathroom.

We laid a foundation of plywood (I think it was) underneath all of them, which is probably important to get a good finish for any vinyl.
