frozen kidneys

i defrosted a pack of frozen kidneys yesterday and forgot about them. just looked and it says they must be eaten within 24 hours which means today.they have been kept in the fridge but or they not fit to eat now. 
would tomorrow be risky!

My suggestion would be ,if they have such a short life 'eat within 24hrs' it would be unwise to eat/use tomorrow0
