Not exactly true. GE Money have sold their Japanese operations to a Japanese Bank. Nothing terribly untoward there really,Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

ge has loads of cash, when i joined them i looked their stats up and i think they made something like 20billion profit last year and unlike most of the other companies in the top 10 biggest companies their profits were based on added value rather than just puming oil out the ground etc.
it also helps that GE is a VERY good defensive stock as it has a large presence in the energy market so its shares and hence ability to raise capital are unlikely to be decimated in the same way most banks have been.0
