Plus size is no more expensive than non plus in New Look or Dorothy Perkins.

We buy a lot off ebay and prices are really reasonable - got 4 summer skirts at between 99p & £2.50 each plus postage which is usually about £2 - £2.50 at the moment

Try TK MAXX's larger lady range, the clearance offers can be pretty good. I used to think that TK Maxx didn't do stuff for the larger boned lady, but I can't see past them now and rarely go into Evans these days (who wears their stuff anyway?)

Sainsburys do a plus range which I like also Asda and Tesco. Got a pair of linen trousers reduced to £4.50 in Tesco this afternoon.:j

Ebay is always good for plus sizes. Do specific searches with your size and makes you like and it will help you weed out the stores that you don't like.
  • Have a go at making your own - you'll have clothes that fit properly and nobody else will have them.
I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead
