    When they posted up our new rosters to vote on, I looked at the 12 hour one (we do 8/8.5/9 hours), thinking I could swap all my day shifts and get 4 days off. However, I worked out the money and I got £2k less a year than if I did permanent nights which was 3 hours a night less and a day off less.

    I have to say i could never work for one place anymore. I like the freedom of working when i want to work. Albeit i do have to work full time. And also if i dont like somewhere i do not have to go back. And believe me there are some really sh1tty places out there. I would not put my dog in them . And also i dont get involved with staff politics which is a bonus xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Yeah, but security (my field) is not worth it. The outsourced security company are living proof of the paying peanuts gag.

    I can see that. I would never work indoors again if I could help it. I love working outdoors. Mind you, I've always wondered what a 9-5 would be like... I've never had one in 12 years of working!
