    5% for the rest of the year and then up by abit next year

    I think a 0.25 rise in october to leave rates at 5.25 going into the end of the year.

    After that who knows. I guess it all depends on how high inflation goes and whether the recession will have the affect of reigning in inflation naturally

    I could be and will be wrong though

    A little self-contradictory there Lynz.

    Lowering BofE base rate will not necessarily impact LIBOR and therefore new mortgages would not be significantly lower. My trackers would be though. :p
