Hi, my husband is interested in training to work in security as a security guard/CCTV operator/securicor driver that sort of thing, not really door supervisor as looking to work days rather than nights. I undertsand he needs to take a trainign course and then apply for a SIA license - can anyone recommend any good training providers, articularly in the cambridgeshire area? I have googled it and loads came up but not sure if they are a) genuine or b) any good. Also he is dyslexic and struggles with reading and writing, I think there are exams as part of the training - does anyone know if this is a problem.Any general advice or a point in the right direction would be great - I tried the SIA website but it was too confusing. Many Thanks

Quite often employers will fund these training courses, so maybe check that.
Also - the door supervisor licence allows for security and door supervisor for on a little extra effort, whereas security licence allows only security.
CCTV and VIT licences are separate things too - so really, he needs to work out exactly what or who he wants to work for.0
