Help!! I have just had a call on my land line (which I never give for comping!) from a recorded voice that said "You have been selected to win a cruise to the Bahamas, please press 9 to speak to an operator" I hung up! I am now freaking out that it could have been real! I entered one ending on the 7th July for a family hol to the Bahamas but just checked that and it was flights. I looked in the scams thread and much to my relief someone else said they'd had that call too, but I just need someone to reassure me please! lol

I've had a message on my answer machine too from some automated thing, don't know if it was the same thing as I deleated it as soon as I realised it was a scammy thing but I'm guessing it was the same call you got!0

I had same call at 8am this morning, just what I want as I am trying to get everyone out of the house.
Just hang up is my advice......
if it is like a previous holiday offer it is without flights and so you then need to book the flights later at a preferential rate which I expect will be high......

I have been told that if you press the number to accept the call you get a long recorded message which you get charged for receiving. I am not sure how true this is but it is not a risk I take and I always hang up. If it had been a genuine win a real person would have spoken to you so don't worry you did, in my opinion, exactly the right thing.0
