I'm currently trying to pay mine off due to the hike in interest rates. I haven't logged in for a while and I think I may have forgotten my password (it's not that easy to forget your mother's maiden name !). I rang their call centre and after going through security was told that as my phone number had changed since the opening of the account I would need to complete a change of phone number form. After two weeks this hadn't arrived and I had to request it again. A letter arrived this morning "we have received a call today but could not verify the caller using the security information we currently hold". That's strange, I swear I passed security and all I wanted was a change of password and my phone number updating. I now have to fill this ridiculous form in and send all the ID I sent when I opened the account. Just to get in, print some statements and close the account. What a farce. If I have forgotten passwords in the past, I ring up go through security and get it changed. I have never had to reconfirm all my ID just for a change of phone number, they have usually done that while I've been on the telephone to them. I would close my Abbey Business account too but they have no charges at all for me and a £500 overdraft. If anyone knows an account as good I'll change !0

Sounds like a pain dog, but any tom !!!!!! or harry ringing from a random phone number could be claiming to be you, requesting to know your password. I reckon you'd rather they did this than gave your password to anyone who knew your username and mother's maiden name etc!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0
