Daily Mail Free Childrens DVD's

I'm annoyed with the Daily Mail/WH Smiths.
For those who don't know, they are offering a free childrens DVD every day but you have to collect it from WH Smith. My two are bit old for most of the titles, but they really wanted the SuperTed one (so did I
).
The paper arrived as we were leaving for football this morning, and I noticed that today was the day for SuperTed. I clipped the coupon out and said we could call into town after football to collect it.
Got to WH Smith and stood in a huge queue. Handed the voucher in, and was given a Brum DVD. I complained and said it should be SuperTed today. The lady said there had been a mix up and SuperTed was handed out yesterday instead of Brum, so they were giving Brum away today. I asked if I could have the voucher back so I could try another branch, but she refused as I'd already redeemed it
I've got two disappointed children now

It does seem mad, but you could have got another copy of The Mail to get the token and try another WHSmith???0

not happy with them either, got the first few days worth and had to change my work hours so could only get to newsagent after 5, they'd sold out in the 1 and only Smiths in town, got told i could send off for them, but they will charge 4.99 to send them!? seems a bit much for a few dvds.0

i would have bought all of them (the papers) and collected them all- kept what i wanted and given the others to anyone who wants them...
when i have been collecting the free films out the papers, the stores usually have loads left over the following day- once i got about 6 from blockbusters for the price of one copy of the sun- i asked if they were doing more that week and the guy said 'no but we've got some spares left over' and handed me about 5 more :-)
i got a porridge dvd from smiths the other week- it was a free one the previous day and they had boxes of them so gave them to anyone who wanted onethings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester..
all your base are belong to us :eek:0 -
I guess it depends on the store where you go. Having worked for WHS in the past I have seen the amount of stuff they made us throw away rather than give to good causes or customers. No wonder they made all the losses they did!

I'd second that.....
I always try and make some good of some of the things I'm supposed to throw out. Hence there was a female santa last year handing out free comics to children.0
