Hi there. I’m looking for the TV Holy Grail. A well spec’d 32” LCD TV with reasonable connections (PC, Scart etc) , good picture, HD ready for as little as possible.
I know Aldi is about to sell their Tevion 32” LCD for £350 or so I would imagine as that’s what it’s gone for before (http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/58_6586.htm). Really I need someone to tell me if it’s
A) A good buy:D
Terrible and I shouldn’t even look at it.
C) That X is a better/cheaper one:T
D) I should research myself.:o
The problem with D) is that I have already checked around and pretty much every TV I look at has a number of reviewers picking holes in it. Can anyone offer some constructive advice about a great bargain?:T
Thanks!:T

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

I have never had a Tevion television so don't know much about them, it does seem to have a lot going for it and a 3 year warranty and seems a good buy , but TBH I don't like the styling of it so personally wouldn't purchase ir.
I am also looking for a 32" LCD at the moment to replace one I had in the bedroom that broke down, most of the ones I am looking at are on the Empire Direct website around the £399.99 mark for example http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/list.aspx?s=32pfl5403 @ £399.99 plus £12.99 Del, this retails in Currys at £529.99 To get a 3 year guarantee though you would have to become a Edxra member which cost £30, not a worry for me though as I already have this through a previous purchase. If you do decide to get anything from ED you get 2% cashback if you go through quidco0 -
I read loads of reviews before I eventually bought a Samsung which was brilliant. What I found was for every good review, you will undoubtedly find a bad one as well and the more you look and trouble about it all, the more for and against reviews you will find. Some people seemed to give bad reviews on a product, but when you read between the lines it seemed that they just hadn't been bothered to read the manual.
Did read some reviews from well known companies like Which magazine which always seems to provide unbiased advice. Eventually I just went to the shop and compared the items that I saw, liked the Samsung and all it had to offer and bought it.0 -
google AV forums, they have a very well informed community on there who would probably be able to offer much more help as they would have a specific forum for LCD HDTVS
Hope it helps:beer:0 -
Hi,
I recently bought the Vistron 32" from ebuyer and pretty happy with it(although there are many out there who werent based on some reviews)
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131916
Biggest problem with this is the 1 scart socket it has is located right beside the base of the tv and you cant actually fit scart sockets into it(unless you use a wall mount) Major design flaw! This only has 1 year warranty.
The day after I bought it though I found this-
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-M32LCD
It seems to be a similar spec, but has 2 scart sockets and a 3 year warranty(and free next day delivery codes are about for this) and all for under £300.
Tbh i might still send my Vistron back and go for this one.
Hope that helps.0 -
Bought a cracking little 32" Hanspree TV from these guys and im very pleased with it, most have two year warrantys and the picture compares very well with a Sony Bravia we have!
