im going to play it safe with First direct fixed @ 6.19

After much debating reading a lot of information and threads
( some are total bullsh!t and bollox )

Ive swung towards security and playing it safe with First directs 6.19% for 10 years ( off set mortgage ) £98,000 over 25 years fee - £798

My personal opionion is this country and econonmy is a bloody mess going back years with low rates and rocketinghouse prices and lenders handing out money leftright and centre.

Its allcaught up now builders getting laid off ,fuel, foodeverything is rising ( except our wages ) im not going to go with a tracker personally its to risky I things rates will rise to 5.50 by the end of the year andprobarly decrease then and level out. its all doom and gloom seen as im coming of a fixed of 4.39 % from 2003,,if i only new..

im gonna sit tight pay my montly fixed rate and wait a few years prices will rise again on property eventually in the years to come as they spiralled out of control anyway they need to level out ....our government eally doesnt have a clue get boris in charge he will sort things out ??? LOL

Boris is a knob is my first thought... the mortgage seems fine if security is what you are after though

I'd go for it then, and quickly. FD don't give much notice before they pull rates.

And just to clarify, Boris really really is a knob

when i took my FD Mortgage out earlier in the year I had 6 working days to decide after i spoke to them - as long as you confirm in that time you will get the rate that you booked originally even if it goes up - BTW i think the various options on the FD offset are very useful
    good luck with it
