Hello,
I need to change the address on my driving licence, is it possible to do this online? I have the old paper one so I am I right in thinking I will be issued with one of the new photo card licence's?
Can anyone advise please?

It is an offence to have a licence with the wrong address, up to a £1000 fine if memory serves. There is a change of address section on the DVLA website, but if you've only got the old-school paper style then you will probably have to reapply for a photo ID. It used to be £18 but when I applied for mine recently it was free because we already had the photo style.
Best bet is to either go to the Post Office or check the FAQ on the DVLA site. I had the old paper style licence and managed to change my address on the DVLA website...
If you have a passport, then you can put your passport number in and they can attempt to link the photo for your driving licence from your passport!
This worked for my OH but not for me!

Change of address is free and if you have an old paper license they will renew this with a with a photocard license foc but afaik you do have to do this by post as you have to send them a photo and sample signature.0
