The only thing being that it isnt actually HD..... but, even for an average SD plasma, this still isnt a bad price
    2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.

On Ebuyers home page it states:-
42" HD (High Definition Compatible) Silver Plasma Television with Stand and Speakers

Put if this description is wrong I will amend title.

    Cheers
  • The resolution is far too low for proper HDTV so I would guess the "compatible" but mean it can accept a HDTV signal but not actually display it full.

HDTV usually needs a resolution of around 1280 x 720 to be classed as HD ready.

It will display it all..... but it will 'scale' it down..... the analagous situation is of course if you feed an HD display with something of lower resolution which will then need scaled up. Note that downscaling will be easier and cheaper to do acceptably. This means that if you dont actually have an HD source, you may actually get better performance with an SD (NOT HD) display.

  • Can anyone confirm is this would be ok for Sky HD - i.e. HDCP (looks like) 720 p @50hz, 1080i @50hz? And I assume Sky HD would work on the DVI with the HDCP?

sky+ hd is going to use a hdmi connector. dvi doesnt carry sound so you'd have to get some sort of converter/splitter
