Try not to rule out agencies and temp jobs it can be like dealing with the devil and there are some shocking agencies out there but overall I have had positive experiences, the majority of temp jobs I went on, I would be offered a perm job. And its often a good way to get into organisations like local council, NHS or education.
In the past 3 months my oh has been through the process of of finding a new job, and was lucky to find a fantastic agency, who secured interviews for 6 interesting and varied roles paying 30K + all within a month.0 -
the only reason i have a permanent job atm is due to needing regular hours upon becoming a single parent a few years back.. I always preferred working for the temp agencies, and doing some self employed stuff.. I'm a bit of a claustrophobe, and hate being stuck in one place for a long period.... one reason i prefer driving jobs! also i always had a bigger paypacket when temping.... but then i always took what was on offer.. variety, spice, etc... if permanent is the thing though, one bit of advice i remember from my dad.. its easier to change jobs than get jobs... if you're in work, even if its not what you want to do, at least you have a checkable record... and you'll have money coming in while you find the job you do want.. personally i can't wait to go back to the freedom of temping....0
