Tuesdy 8/07/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today i will:
  • Clicks
  • Check online banking
  • Update spreadsheets
  • lunch from storecupboard
  • List some books on amazon
  • Do a couple of free bets received from e mails
Finally the rain has stopped here but not looking promising for any sun yet:rolleyes:
Hope you all have a good day today at work/home.
Hi to all the regular posters and lurkers and welcome to any new posters:D

Well, it's only 7.45 and already I've saved money on my virgin bill. I threatened to cancel and got £15 a month off my bill!

What I'm also going to do:
    - Do a weeks meal plan
    - Go to sainsbury and have a yellow sticker hunt (shameful but I love it ;) )
    - Call o2 and try to negotiate a good deal for my upgrade
    - Upload some of my photos onto stock pics to see if I can sell them

I brought cup cakes and brownies into work for peoples birthdays, keeping morale up and keeping us all working hard but happy.

I'm also having a NSD (hopefully)
    doing some clicks later
looking out some things to sell

    Morning All :hello:
    Well today I shall/have:
    • I didn't make a loaf last night, so am struggling to think of something to take for lunch :o I'll put a loaf on tonight though.
    • I will have to drive to work, because I'm the only one prepared to go to the bank at lunchtime so not walking, though I can then go home for lunch......
    • Tonight I shall list some stuff on e-bay (5p listing today :D I let them run for 10 days, otherwise it can be quite crowded.....)
    • Supper already made:D
    • NSD, apart from 20p at rehearsal
Not a lot, but these NSD, or LSD's are really good for the budget :D

    • Laundry - on hanger (raining again)
    • Paperwork
    • Lots of lists - Christmas/school/store-cupboard:D

Sophiesmum, like the change of avatar.

Well, i've had a really busy day today as have been at a training course all day for this new bank/supply job. Had to get up at 6.30 and only just got in. I'm not very good at having to sit in a classroom for long periods!!

However it was good news as have found out that even though it is a bank/supply position, because they have loads of homes in my area, you can easily work it as a full time job if you want to, with all the beauty of working as and when you want to, so may not need another job after all!

    So, my things for today:
-Been on training course all day
-Used the bus to get to the training centre which was 20miles away instead of the train, so that i could use my special weekly ticket, which meant i didn't have to pay any extra
-Sorted out training courses for next week and the next few weeks, so hopefully i can start working with clients soon
-Got free lunch and drinks at the course
    -It's been a NSD
-Got in touch with college regarding reference from old tutor

-Will email the college details about me so that they can speak to my old tutor
-Received a phone call regarding a cleaning job i had enquired about, the woman wants to check my references and then meet me soon, so that may be a small part time job
-Phone person up to see if they will provide me a ref for it

    -Make tea from store cupboard
-Check stuff in fridge to see if any of it is going to go off soon and move stuff to freezer if neceserry

-Email someone regarding ref for counselling course
    -Have moved around mystery shops
-Have emailed someone regarding mystery shopping work
    -Will place a matched bet
-Will sort out mystery shops for tomorrow
-Start filling in work from training course
    -Look on job centre website

The rest of the evening will be spent relaxing. Have a great evening everyone.

Millyscarlett you arent too far from me and there is a horrible sicky bug doing the rounds, hope your DD/DS is feeling better soon. Thankfully my DD was only sick the once, just a really high temp and headache the rest of the time (4 days).

    Today I have:
    • Checked banking - all ok but bank saying no available funds, but nothing due to go out  HSBC are a law unto themselves though!
    • Checked mystery shops and picked up a restaurant one for the weekend
    • Took back squash balls, exchanged for the correct ones - and got £1 back :T
    • PB click
    • Bought DD a pepsi and fruit pastels using my points, which means I managed my 2nd NSD
    • Managed to window shop in town and walked away from several things I wanted (not needed!).
    • Breakfast and lunch from stores.
    • My good deed for the day was finding a wallet and keys and reuniting them with their oblivious owner  (one for the feelgood factor list).
    • Airer dried some washing done yesterday.
    • Done housework (feelgood).
    • Given some clothes for OH, mostly jeans, good timing as his only pair have a hole in.
    • Arranged to collect cheap freezer (£21 woohoo!).
    • Finally got a quote for fixing my bike - £31 so not too bad.
    And I will:
    • Wash up by hand, saving electric. Will do tomorrow, to tired now!
    • [STRIKE]Dinner from stores, apart from DS who is out for tea.[/STRIKE] Done
    • Do up an invoice so that I can be paid (hopefully on time!) this month.
    • Watch dvds from free trial. Too tired!
    • Cancel free dvd trial.
    • [STRIKE]Do PB comps.[/STRIKE] Done
