not totally sure, but i know you can apply for photocard for free travel for 11yrs plus in london (think its via transport for london/oystercard?)-would imagine that would have to have a date of birth on it as well as photo identity...maybe this would do?

otherwise all i am thinking of is passport/birth cert, but then you don't wanna carry those round with you...umm maybe someone else will have a brain wave though!

Find an ID template for the ID you require. This site has a link to a template which you are free to use and modify for personal use. FREE FAKE ID TEMPLATE fronttemp.jpg backtemp.jpg Credit Card Sized
    Microsoft Word 2003
    Free Novelty Fake ID Template
    (274kb)

Template is for novelty use only. Not proof of age. Misusue may be illegal.
    Step Two
Enter whatever details you require into the empty gaps on the template. If you're using our template as above then this is very simple to do in MS Word. If the template requires a photo then scan a photo and import it into the template.
    Step Three
Print both sides of the ID template out on the best paper you have and at the highest resolution possible. A photo quality inkjet printer printing onto photo paper would be ideal. Matt paper is another good effect.
    Step Four
Glue the two sides of paper ID card together. This needs to be done very accurately. The easiest way is to first cut out one side roughly then align and glue the two side together using a bright light before accurately cutting around both.
Cut around the template to make it credit card sized. Our template should be exactly credit card sized when you print it out. The best results can be got by using a craft knife and an existing ID card as a template. Cut around the existing ID card.
    Step Five
Laminate the paper ID card using a standard laminator. There are many types of laminator and laminate material. These can be bought fairly cheaply in shops such as Partners, Staples, Viking Direct, WHSmith.
    Step Six
Cut around the laminated card to give the final laminated ID card.

You do need to supply a birth certificate or such like for the child oyster card from Transport for London but from memory (I did my two kids 2 years ago!) you have to pay a fee - I think £5.00.

A better option would be to scan in a copy of his passport, if he has one, onto your computer and scale it down. Print it off and take it to get laminated. A few stationery shops do this and only charge around £1.00 per sheet. You can then make it to about a credit card size for him to put in his wallet.

I hope this would not cause problems in this country - mine works in Spain so that I don't have to carry my passport around for exchanging money etc.

    Hi,
I am having to get my son one of these. I have found one at One Stop at the tills. If they are under 18 it is free, it's called a citizencard and is goverment, police and trading standard approved. You have to have 2 passport photo's one has to be signed by a referee. This can be either teacher, doctor, dentist, nurse, laywer, police officer or professional cival servant. I am asking the school as hopefully they will not charge me, as I know some of the others do.

    HTH
Thanks for any help and advice given
