Reliable Collections Ltd. Scam?

Hi everyone. I've just recevied a letter from Reliable Collections Ltd saying my account details have been changed and can I phone 0870 160 1951 urgently to discuss the account.
I've never heard of them so phoned and they say I owe Fashion World around £140. I've never heard of Fashion World and have never ordered from a catalogue. They said they've been sending letters for the last 6 months which they haven't (as I say, I've never heard from them before)
I asked him if it was a scam and he said no, he had all the details in front of him. I then went on query it and he said "we'll leave it here" and hung up.
Sounds very dodgy but I am still a little worried. Anyone else had anything similar happen?

I am dealing with Reliable Collections. They are genuine. I am in arrears with my SimplyBe account and the debt was passed to them. (They are an in house DCA) Do you have any catalogues that this could be in relation to? They have been very good to deal with actually and have agreed to my DMP and stopped interest etc.

Sounds like a company that'll go on the electoral roll and send them to anyone with a certain name in the hope of getting the right one. They then of course use scare tactics to scare anyone who they can talk to into paying so they may well end up with numerous people paying off the debt and they then rake it in!Hi everyone. I've never ordered from a catalogue before let alone Fashion World. My gut feeling says they just sent a generic letter to get me to get me to phone them (which I did) and try and get me to pay. As soon as I questioned it they seemed in a hurry to end the call. I'm still a bit worried over things like this as you hear so many horror stories about scams etc...0

It might just be a mistake. They do happen. Do you have any debts which it could relate to? The letter they sent me looked dodgy at first but I know get proper looking statements and no longer here from SimplyBe. Also, I called SimplyBe direct and they patched me through to Reliable Collections so are obviously in house.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

I agree, it sounds like a "fishing" letter to try and find someone else.
