That's one way of getting very expensive cups of coffee. It'd be cheaper to get it delivered from Starbucks or Costa!0

Joking apart, I always went out of my way to get a Nero coffee or something . My treat for myself when I used lower quality machines at home.
Even at just once or twice a week, saving £2 time, a £200 machine pays for itself fairly quickly.
Since buying my more expensive machine I prefer the taste of my own coffee, and have a cup or two every day and rarely drink out. I've broken even on the at the very least based on the once a week habit, and at 7 times a week I'm onto a winner!0 -

I bet you buy posh coffee beans aswell.:rotfl:
I would say "really good" cofee beans instead of "posh". Because it is the first rule of good coffee - the quality of the beans. But if you want to save, then just make a stove-top coffee, it will be good and cheap.;)0 -
Never heard of them delivering coffee to your house... Can they deliver in the early morning as well?:D Super hot and fresh?mr_skinflint wrote: »That's one way of getting very expensive cups of coffee. It'd be cheaper to get it delivered from Starbucks or Costa!
I'm still thinking my £250 machine is much cheaper

Most businesses usually don't bother with "bean to cup" machines, they use pods, filter or instant coffee ... That's why you can see long queues of people craving for a real coffee in coffee houses (Coffee Republic, Nero, Costco etc.) at lunch time...I thought it might be like the flavia machines businesses have in their meeting rooms.0 -
Still doesn't sound like money saving to me. You've decided that you need something which you don't and spent a fortune on it. You are a marketing man's dream.0

Mmmm espresso. I feel a trip to Oxford Street coming on tomorrow. I am still missing my beautiful old Elektra espresso machine... sadly like certain other Italian products (think Alfa Romeo) it was beautiful to look at, wonderful when working properly, but let down by dodgy electrics.
To be honest I don't really fancy a bean-to-cup machine. Part of the charm of it (for me) is the brewing process. According to most reviews I've seen online the Rancilio Silvia is still the best machine produced for the home market. I've never seen this model at Selfridges but I'll probably go along and see what they have.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
What made you think that I didn't need it?:D That I don't drink coffee? But my husband does! I've been hunting this machine for 3 months already and his birthday is in two weeks, so I've bought it perfectly on time and on budget!mr_skinflint wrote: »Still doesn't sound like money saving to me. benjus, I also considered Rancilio Silvia, but Silvia+ decent coffee grinder would cost me much more. BTW it is me who makes coffee for him (perfect wife
), he drinks it only, so I will save some time for me as well!!! 0 -
Gutted I missed this as I've been after the 3500 for ages now but have held back because of the price. Rang all of the Selfridges stores yesterday and they'd all sold out.0
