Steam Generator Irons

I have been considering getting one of these new fangled irons , so that I can get on top of my ironing mountain. Is there any MSE poster out there who has one of these things and can tell me the pros and cons of their useage. I confess to hating ironing and look upon it as being the next thing up from cleaning the "s-bend" in the toilets !!! Any help/advice would be gratefully received and assist me in making my final decision to purchase or not . Thanks x

Yes, get one
I've got a Tefal Express, it's great. Most things only need ironing on one side, shirts can be done by hanging on a hanger and steaming them rather than ironing on a board. Can't think of any cons. Bulletproof0 -
You just missed the best deal ever...I think it was a misprice, however, its still at a really low price in comparison to other places.

bluep and troo - can I ask a stupid question ??? Do you just fill up the tank with water or Comfort ironing water and then iron iron iron ?? Or is there another way? Also , do you have to adapt your ironing board , I have heard that you need an ironing board which is holey ? Thanks x0

I've got a Tefal Pro Express, had it a couple of years from Argos, would never go back to an ordinary steam iron. Ironging done is less than half the time. I just use an ordinary ironing board although it can get slightly damp when using losts of steam but it soon dries. I just fill the tank with water. Think in my instructions it says something like don't use Comfort ironing water stuff. Also great for steaming stuff on a hangar like washable suits.0

Actually I haven't got an ironing board, I steam most things on hangers. Son has a couple of thick cotton t-shirts which I iron on a towel on the worktop
