Plasma screen tv for £1500

Bit of help please:

I have £1500 to spend on a plasma screen tv and was wondering if anyone knoiws what is the best deal out there.

Being an idiot when it comes to electronics I have no idea what to look for when it comes to specs.

You get what you pay for at the end of the day....its a good deal if you can spare/risk losing the £1500 and dont care much for it with regards to aftercare...

I sincerely hope you do not get the tiny unit. As for RS....staff are a bunch of thieving incompetent scamsters if you ask me for any info on them IMHO. I can justify every word there by the way!!

The best and only decent budget plasma screen worthy of spending hard earned cash on is the hitachi models.

Check out comet dixons/currys and John Lewis for the 5200 and 5300 ranges - 32" 37" 42" are available....

It will cost you a little more, but you will never look back once you have one. You can obtain Interest Free credit depending on where you buy also and aftercare will be better. The tiny model is based upon an old samsung screen. Its really just not worth it buying something cheap,....that is cheap because of rebadging and off the market for a reason and replaced with newer versions!

Look to buy discounted gift Vouchers in advance or for retailers 0% deals or even the finance info (0%cards etc) available all over this site...

Spend a little more money, and you will be a happier chappy with a nice big screen with remote in one hand and enjoying a cool beer in the other...

Yes.. who wants a plasma with the Tiny badge on the front - you'll have to buy one de-badged :P

Also, this is not the Tiny computers of old - they collapsed 2 years ago. This is another company that has bought the Tiny name.

Having looked on the internet it seems the plasma screens that appear good value (i.e. less than £1800) don't come with a stand.

I think i'll go for a Hitatchi but will wait until after xmas for any possible offers around

Best bet is to put it on finance now if thats something you think you may need....better deals wont come after christmas....

hitachi 32" model for example hit the market around the £2500+ mark when first released so doubt it would go down much more if anything really. Stock may be hard to come by after christmas also since everyone will want to enjoy owning one over the christmas break!

Take the plunge...go for it! Get a Pioneer Surround sound system also as it will go well with the Hitachi...uses same remote functions!!!
