Delphine's travelling companion cancels two weeks before her holiday, so Delphine, a Parisian secretary, is at a loose end. She doesn't want to travel by herself, but has no boyfriend and seems unable to meet new people. A friend takes her to Cherbourg; after a few days there, the weepy and self-pitying Delphine goes back to Paris. She tries the Alps, but returns the same day. Next it's the beach; once there she chats with an outgoing Swede, a party girl, and a friendship seems to bud; then suddenly Delphine bolts, heading back to Paris. As she waits at the Biarritz train station, a young man catches her eye; perhaps a sunset and the sun's green ray await.

and then on Sunday 11 Feb

In an instant, Sabine decides that Edmond is the man she must marry, but he disappears before they have a chance to speak properly together. Thanks - and it might be useful to those learning French to know that Le Rayon Vert (The Green Ray) is great for improving comprehension, as the dialogue is quite simple and there's lots of repetition (to good comic effect). I really enjoyed it and will pick this copy up as a spare to lend.

To update with a few more details ....

Based on Jackie Collins' bestseller, Hollywood wives tells the story of a bored Hollywood star (played by Farah Fawcett), who hires a handsome private investigator in an attempt to put an end to her husband's cheating. It is up to her and her two best friends, played by Melissa Gilbert and Robin Givens to tackle the high drama that ensues.

Sins is an adaptation of the famous Judith Gould novel. It tells the story of the fiery and strong minded Helene Junot (Joan Collins), having witnessed her mother's death at the hands of the Nazis, she goes to work at the castle of Count de Ville where she falls in love with his son. Faced with his father's objections she heads to Paris and becomes a model. As she finds success at the head of a magazine empire, she begins to seek justice for her family. This five hour epic is split over two DVDs, the first is free in the Mail on Sunday and the second is free with the Monday's Daily Mail.
