Feoijada - Brazilian stew (on radio for next 7 days)

Hi, just heard this being cooked on the radio this morning. It's a cheapish meal and as you listen to the chef she discusses how she has adapted it & other ways to make it cheaper etc. I think she said it feeds 6-8 people but I'm not sure. One thing she stressed was that it's not a very spicy dish. It uses cheaper cuts of meat & black beans & is cooked for about 2 hours so maybe one for slow cookers?
Anyway here's the link for the recipe (after this week you'll have to use the index as it will change to next week's recipe) & here's the link to listen to the programme - click the link at the bottom. It's about 24 mins into the show.
(She goes on to do a very nice sounding, decadent chocolate & raspberry pudding for afters & suggests value ranges of dark choc are good :j )

There's a recipe for this in Hugh F-W's Meat Book. It contains pig's trotters, gammon or pork shoulder, smoked pork belly or bacon, chorizo and sausages.
Optional extras include pig's tails and ears.
He describes it as 'a great party dish for a rabble of friends with adventurous palates'.
Sounds delicious:drool:0 -
It does sound fascinating. I'll give it a look0
