Nightmare trying to open bank account and access experian

I was discharged approx 6 months ago. I have been turned down by four banks for a basic account, including co-op and my old bank HSBC, even though I was with the HSBC for over 10 years and did not miss a single payment until my bankcruptcy. (had mortgages, insurance, loans etc etc with them). We still use the bank, with my partners account and my wages goes into that, she too being with them for over 10 years and the same branch.
I have been advised to acces my Experian report and see if everything is up to date but I can't seem to get the report with them as I don't have a credit or debit card.
Short of changing my name and address to open a new account (which I don't want to do, but it's looking more likely that this may have to be an option)
Does anyone have any advice?

Hi Chilli
I accessed my reports online and was able to use my partners debit card if that's any help. Also, I was told I could send a check from my partners account to get them via the post.
Have you tried the Halifax or Barclays for basic accounts ? My IP told me that they were quite easy to get.

Did the Co-op give a reason for refusing you? Did you ask for a cashminder account? As that is the one they give BR's. You can appeal with the Co-op and they generally sort it on the appeal.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Hi Chilly,
sorry this seems to be very late to reply to you, but having had the same problems as yourself, I would reccomend you try the Yorkshire Bank. This was reccomended to me by this forum, and I must say how great they are. Ring their customer services and explain you are a Discharged Bankrupt and you would like to open an account with them. They will put you through to your nearest branch and you make an appointment to open the account ( mine was on the same day I rang) .I was given ny new account details immediately and received my debit card etc, a few days later.Really nice staff in the branch.0 -
You can pay for all 3 credit agencies with a postal order.....I sent off for all three of mine & enlosed a £2 PO and received all back in a few days no problems the links below let you print off application forms & enclose cheque/postal orders etc
