Though it may be a cheap end branded player what more do you need or expect for around £20 don't forget though you have to put delivery charge on top. An alternative would be combine a few presents to take the price over £45 then use the discount code for £10 off.

"Get £10 off a spend of £45 at Boots. Many items in the clearance section and some decent offers of the week too. Checkout the offers of the week."

    Hope this helps!!!

Here are some of the reviews for the player. Reading the reviews I believe it to be NOT MULTI REGION, even though the advert states Multi region so no real help there. You might be able to search and hunt down a hack!!!

    Rubbish
    Rating: - Roderick Shelton

Twenty minutes into the first dvd film the dvd locked up and refused to release the dvd. It had to be switched off and on again before it would release the dvd. It then refused to play any other dvds. Save your money and buy something better.

Rating: - It does what I bought it to do
I bought this DVD Player to play American DVD's and it does this very well.

The remote is rather large but functional and has everything you could need on it apart from a standby/on button, which can be a bit frustrating, if like me, you atch TV series and so keep the same DVD in the player over a long period of time.

Also, there is no display on the actual DVDplayer which although it does not affect the playing of the discs, I have been used to the time of the disc played showing.

Over all, for the price this is a good DVD player but do not expect any other features other than the ability to play discs from any region.

Rating: - Great value for money
For a tad over £30 this is a fantastic DVD player. It looks great, really easy to use, superb quality picture and plays all region discs. With response to one of the other reviewers who critisized the instruction manual i think its you who are the stupid one - Amazon quite clearly state that the player has been modified to play multi region discs so of course the manual is only going to state region 2. I also didnt understand those that had a problem with the standby button as by using the AV button on the tv remote you can just switch between watching the DVD and the tv. So for me this Dvd player is absolutely fantastic value for money and i'd recommend anyone to buy one.

Rating: - No off switch on the remote control!!
Great player, superb value, outstanding price. But where is the off switch on the remote control?! I've taken a whole star off what would otherwise have been a perfect score simply because you have to physically get up, walk over to the machine and push a rather awquard looking button to turn the thing off. What have I come to, to be moaning about having to get off my chair and do something so small. Tragic, isn't it, but there it is. Also the instructions says it 'plays' CD-Rs but apparently not when I tried it. Still - where else can you get a guaranteed little DVD player that will play anything from anywhere for under 30 quid?

Rating: - Not with a square TV!
I opted for this particular DVD player because it had separate stereo outputs (as well as SCART)and I wanted to feed the sound through my amplifier. It's a feature not so common with players under £40.
Picture and sound quality are fine and compatability is great, all the DVD-/+Rs that I have tried have played, including Slide Shows and extended play DVD discs burned by NERO. It's also impressively small, slim and quite cool looking.

One big annoyance! when you zoom the picture (as you will want to if the movie is in cini-scope or if you have a square TV), the zoom display remains on screen, so you're left with the choice of watching a letter box shaped picture, or sitting through a movie with "zoom x2" written in the centre of the screen.
This completely lets the player down as in every other respect it's a good buy at the price.

Rating: - good value but NOT multi-region
A nice, slimline machine that is excellent value for money, but it didn't play region 1 discs; in fact I bought several: the Sony, the DK and the Cyber Home. Only the Cyber Home was multi-region.

dont buy it. i had a very similar alba one - think i paid a bit more for a mirrored front. i hated most of my dvds, and refused to play them, skipped, stuck, froze and generally misbehaved. also no off button on remote, and really bright on standby button. threw it away after less than 6 months - could not even be bothered to return it.

Can anyone confirm the 3 yr guarantee on the Tevion at Aldi. I had the leaflet with it on and whilst the other products were marked "3 yr warranty", this particular dvd player wasn't. The manager at the local Aldi was not all that helpful saying "all products are covered by one yr guarantee and there MAY BE an extension in the box"
