Reclaiming PPI question - Secured loan

I've been thinking of trying to claim back the PPI I've paid back on a secured loan. The thing is, it was 6 years ago almost exactly and I really can't remember if I was forced upon me, missold or what. I've looked at my paperwork and it does state the PPI on the credit agreement but says 'optional' beside it. Also, I took out a loan and then added onto it 2 years later. Would this make a difference to my being able to claim?
The loan is with Swift Advances. Any advice at all would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • No idea on the specific question, but I would be extremely carefull with Swift... I took out a secured loan for £12k and ended up adding £28k to my mortgage to settle it... they were in the process of repossessing my flat, and only seemed interested in adding my home to their personal property portfolio (I kid you not)
