I've been worried about creditors taking me to court but at the end of the day as, scooterwife says, they can't have what you don't have. The chances are the courts will see that you are making every effort to pay your debts off but your creditors are being difficult and award in your favour - that you carry on what you are currently paying. In some ways, it might be the best thing as creditors will then have to go through the courts if they want more.
I'm on a DMP with CCCS too and finally the calls have stopped after 6 months. Creditors have realised I don't have any more and I am trying to pay them back. As I said, 2 of my debts got passed to DCA's - one accepted 40% !!!!!!.
Please don't worry. I'm female, on my own and have doorstep collectors turn up and I've dealt with them all. I just have a bit of fun with them now - I know that seems bad but that's they way I deal with them and I can't tell you the amount of times that creditors have actually put the phone down on me!! How satisfying is that...!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Doorstep collectors? now that really scares me, I understand the Law bit where only a Bailiff can cross the threshold etc, unless otherwise invited, but I don't think that I could cope with that happening, - you are one brave woman!

The only time they can come to repossess your stuff is if they take you to court, they get a court order for you to pay so much a week or month, you then default on that judgement so they have to take you to court again to get a court order to say they can put chargin order on your house or repo your stuff or whatever. Don't panic! Please try CCCS, they are so good with this stuff. I could hardly speak I was so upset one time I called them and they had me laughing by end of call!Debt busting! Thanks Runny. I'm not that brave, honestly!! Don't panic. It will usually take a while for a creditor to take you to court any way. I've been on my DMP 6 months now and I had all sorts of threats within the first couple of months but now I'm getting offers for !!!!!!.
This might not help, but try and ride the storm. I found this forum and CCCS and manage to cope now. What else can I do? I'm paying what I can afford and they can have no more, even if they try for a CO on my house. I will have no equity once my mortgage has been paid so it's their loss at the end of the day. Let them try and do their worst, I say!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
