Find a Penny....

Hi,
I was wondering, not wanting to sound scroungy or anything but, considering the current credit crunch and the entire purpose of this forum board. Does anyone still actually pick up pennies in the street if they see them.
If so has anyone made a note of how muched they have found in, say, 6 months or a year.
Both of these are probalby not morally or ethically correct but it's what I used to do to get money.
When I was really poor and living in a squat in london, me and my mate used to go to bars and pubs to scan the floors around the counter for dropped coins, problem was rather than saving them we spent them in the bars.
We also used to ask tube commuters around 5-6pm if they had finished with their day tickets and then sell them to people on their way into london that night for a quid or so. One guy we talked to worked in the city through the day and then every night would get changed and come down and do the same thing. He made a good sideline out of it.
Would you do either of these ?

Perhaps not the two you mentioned but if you head over to the dfw board, there is a challenge on the go to see how much money you can make over a year by picking up the money found on the street. Some people are making a packet!! I did it over Jan/Feb and got about £6DFW 228 LONG H 68

in my student days, I'd go to the Union nights and 'bar scavenge' - on several occasions, I paid my entrance fee, got pretty darn drunk (I'm a lightweight, so 2-3 pints is all it takes!) and make a profit on my night out from scrounging money off the floor by the bar! Ah, happy days!
I tend to pick up money I find in the street, but only when I'm by myself - my OH frowns on it and thinks it's 'common'. I don't care - money's money!Surveys nerd :wave:0 -

I worked as a glass collector a year ago, and each night i would find about 10£ in cash on the floor. Over and above my wages it was a nice addition. I only do it if its a decent amount. 50p+ in a group.0

I think you need a third option, No it's not worth the bother.
Another good poll would be "what is the smallest denomination coin that you would pick up".0 -
I always pick up money I see in the street, what sense is there in leaving it to nature?
