I want to borrow £10,000 between 5-10

I want to find the cheapest way to borrow £10,000 for home improvements. I have just bought a new house and I am tied into my new mortgage for the next 3 years after which time I will be able to remortgage and release some more capital. I then intend to pay off the loan. I want to know if for instance I take out the loan for 5 - 10 years and I pay it off early will I be charged to do this. I haven't not checked my credit rating. I am self employed photographer earning between 35-40,000 a year.

I know that Egg loans do not penalise you for paying off early and you can take payment breaks if you like every 12 months. Their APR is slightly higher at 7.9% typical, but they have a lot of benefits if you want to overpay etc
