Credit Reports

A report by Which? last year recommends we all regularly view our credit rating to ensure it's accurate to avoid disappointment and battle identity fraud. But have you noticed that the price of credit reports has increased dramatically in the past year or so? What used to be a £2 check is now:
  • Equifax - £11.95 (credit report), £14.95 (credit rating) and £3.99 / mth (credit watch)
  • Experian - £5.95
  • Call Credit - could not find pricing on their site!
With the credit crunch in full swing and consumers at the mercy of these agencies (rightly or wrongly) it seems difficult to justify the cost of a sweep through all three every time an entry is made.

I know that if I follow the advice on MSE and listen to the many forum guru's with their gems of wisdom, my credit score will surely take good care of itself. Or will it?

Best,
Phil
