Sleepovers - guest beds / air beds

I could do with getting something for friends and relatives to sleep on when they stay over night.
I live in a flat, so space isn't great and whatever I get needs to foldup as small as possible.
What are people's opinions on air beds? Is there a brand that is best? Shoudl I get one with a built in pump.
My next biggest option is a fold out chair bed (I think Argos does one)? Are these any good?
Then there are traditional Z-beds but I am terrified that they would just suddenly close up with my guests in them! (not necessarily a bad thing...) Do they? if not what typpe is best to get?
Finally I have looked at the Ikea fold out chair bed (think it is called Lycksele) which is pricey just for others to sleep on (!) and a bit big but is it worth the extra cash?
all advice gladly received!

Tesco are currently doing double air beds for £15. Not so great when you're a bit drunk though as they make you sea sick!
Not sure how much the single ones were and don't know about pumps either! :think:0 -
Aerobed make good air beds. I have Aerobed Active for camping which has a rechargeable pump but the other in house ones have fitted pumps. If you check hotukdeals or on these forums you should be able to find the discount code that gets you a healthy (40% I seem to recall) discount from their online website.
Also the coleman double comfort airbed gets good reviews again for camping. But then you would need to buy a seperate pump.0 -
I bought a double premium airbed from Aerobed using the discount code on the "discount codes n vouchers" forum.. one of the best things i ever bought!"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0

Air beds are not at all comfortable imho! Especially if you are sharing a double because if one person moves the thing goes up and down, lol......0 -

Dave i have to disagree :P ... we bought a premier raised from Aerobed

Its fantastic, there is 7 stone difference between me and my partner and we have a fantastic nights sleep on it; infact its more comfortable then the expensive mattress we bought for our bed! saying that, perhaps different brands are difficult to sleep on."Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. I have slept on one at a friend's and I admit it was a bit weird but I am fed up of visitors putting my sofa cushions on the floor!0

I would recommend aerobed too - picked one up on ebay for a ridiculous price and my son often sleeps on it - he has one of those really high sleeper beds and it gets too hot up there in the summer!Heard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?
Visit my Shaggy videos on Youtube - search for Rhyburgh1 - now over 700,00 views - bring on the million!! Enjoy.0 -
Having had to sleep on various airbeds whilst work was going on in my bedroom, I consider myself an airbed expert, lol.
ALL cheap airbeds are rubbish. Uncomfortable and will very likely seep air out very slowly during the night.
Had various makes of these and they were all as bad as each other.
Bought an Intex model and it leaked air very slowly too and seemed unstable (fairly 'rocky' to sleep on).
Then got Aerobeds (Tesco vouchers used in MFI when they accepted them, lol). Had a premier raised and also a pillowtop raised. Tried both single and double. Best airbeds we've had.....internal pump had them up in a couple of minutes and they were comfortable and leak free.
Definitely recommend an Aerobed.
In fact, sometimes if my back is sore after DIYing all day, I go sleep on an Aerobed and I wake up refreshed with no sore bits.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Right, an Aerobed it is.
Best price and model for a single?0 -
go direct to the aerobed website and use the forty percent off codes here:

see the notes about having to order a model that costs over £49 though.0
