Why does my freeview box not work when it's raining?

Anyone know why my freeview box plays up when it's raining.
The problem is with ITV / Channel 4 - the signal keeps breaking up - picture is fine one minute and the next "no signal".
I have no such problems when the weather is dry!!
I share an ariel with 3 other flats - is this part of the problem??

Partly. If the cable is old, it may have water getting into it.0

Thanks for your quick response Conor - it could well be that the cable is 20+ years old and needs renewing.0

I have water coming down mine literally and have a coaxil cable between the aerial cable and the freeview box/pvr so the aerial doesn't go directly into the electrical equipment, with a t-towel wrapped round it if the rain is really heavy!0
