I use the food processor. Or the mill attachment for the Bamix if I'm only doing a small quantity. (Yes, I own too many kitchen gadgets...)how do people make breadcrumbs (assuming you make your own)? And what sort of bread do you make them from?
I keep the "heels" of bread (or leftovers which aren't going to get eaten before they go stale or before I make a new batch) in a sealed bag in the freezer, then when I have enough to make the exercise seem worthwhile or when I have five minutes spare and might be using the food processor for something else afterwards, I take them all out and zap them in the food processor (from frozen sometimes - it only takes a couple of minutes longer). Then I rebag them into useful-sized packages (100g or 250g), label, seal and refreeze so that I can just pull out some breadcrumbs when I want them. They defrost very quickly, and can be broken up with your fingers straight from the freezer. If I want dry breadcrumbs (which is almost never), then I just dry them off in the oven before using them.
I use any sort of bread at all, all mixed up together. Wholemeal, white, mixed flours, rye, sunflower, walnut bread... the only bread that I don't turn into breadcrumbs is any sort that is sweetish or has non-dry additives (such as raisins or some types of sun-dried tomato). Oh, and I never make breadcrumbs for the freezer out of bread containing anything any family member or regular visitor is allergic to, because I will not remember what is in each batch and I don't want to poison my loved ones. At least, not accidentally

I have a food processor, but I'm not sure where any of the attachments are though, as I've only used the main blade that goes into the 'jug' since we moved 7 years ago. I've tried a variety of these to make breadcrumbs (it's that long since I've tried), and never had success that way either
I do remember that the main blade just leaves me with a doughy clump !!
Will have to try popping some bread into the oven when I take out something that's been cooking, and see if that dries it out enough.....
I don't personally mind the frozen fish, and would quite happily have it poached with a slice of lemon a couple of times a week -- but the lemon is something else the menfolk won't entertain !!!!!
I used to use this fish on a regular when I was only cooking for me (son had school dinners, and hubby sorted himself during the day while I was at work as he worked nights), so I picked up a bag a couple of months ago without thinking they might not appreciate it :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -
