    I left my debts with a debt management company Sam but they take 15% of my monthly payments so I am looking to move it from them and manage it myself now. Do you do the same? When I have extra cash, I will just send them a further interim payment.

    I hope to have a few thousand pounds over the next couple of months and want to use this to the maximum instead of squandering it!

    A NSD for me but that's my night shifts finished and being off for the next few days is where I'm likely to run into trouble and spend :o . I'm hoping that the thought of writing down what I spend and posting it in public will deter me...we'll see :rolleyes: .

    As for my lottery ticket....it wasn't me :rotfl: ....not even one number :rolleyes: .

    Tony, definitely get yourself out of the fee charging DMP, as you say that is money that could have gone towards your debts. I'm with Payplan, when I started I was not emotionally strong enough to have self-managed a DMP but lots of people do. Have you looked on the DMP Mutual Support Thread? I have had lots of fabulous advice from the lovely people on there :T . Good luck with it :D .

    6th July,

    Total spent = £86.29

    NSDs = 3

    Hi Sam,

    Yes, I have decided that I will. I'm pleased with myself this weekend as both Sat and Sun have been NSDs. You will be strong this week, just come on here for support as I do!

    I have spent all weekend getting all my paperwork upto date and ready to face this head on. Also by managing it myself, whenever I have extra, I will send interim payments direct.

    You are doing so well with your debts, but keep up with your NSDs. My only spend at the weekend was petrol for the week!

    Be strong this week Sam, I know you will!

    Quite pleased, I had a day off today and haven't spent any money :D . I have everything I need for our evening meal and have spent the day doing housework and messing about on the computer :rolleyes: . I'll have to get some shopping either tomorrow or Wednesday but I'm going to make a list and try to stick to it.

    Well done Tony on your NSDs and getting organised to do your own DMP :T . Thanks for all your kindness and encouragement :D it really does help.

    Well done Loopy :T . On the NSD not the overspending :rotfl: . Sounds like you're getting somewhere with NR too. I hope their "agreement" is going to be one that suits you.

    Evening Sam, hope you're ok!

    Kindness and encouragement works 2 ways!!!

    Shopping is essential just like my petrol, but well done on your NSD! I have had a NSD too. Need to buy some stamps tomorrow tho to send off my letters to all my creditors but trying for a general NSD week. Its amazing when you dont spend you realise the nice things in life that don't cost anything!

    Well done on yours too Lu, the weekend has gone now so just look forward!

    Will post more later guys!

    Yes, they called this afternoon and he was pleasant enough. He has suggested something called a Tomlin Agreement, I have posted on the main board as haven't heard of this before. I googled it tho and it seems to be a kind of Out of Court Agreement relating to monthly repayments, and if we default on that, then they can go straight for CCJ without re-issuing papers etc.

    More good news from my lovely Pa :A - he is taking us on holiday! It's his 60th in September and he wants to spend it in Ibiza with us! Feel a bit sad that he is treating me - it should be other way around at this stage in our lives, but still, hopefully I can take him somewhere amazing (he's always wanted to go to the Far East) for his 70th ! :D

    Keep up the good work x

    Well done on another NSD Tony, they all add up :T .

    The NR thing sounds interesting Loopy, keep us up to date with how it works. I really hope this is the beginning of the end of the trouble you've had with them. Brill news about your Dad taking you to Ibiza :T , have a wonderful time, September's not even very far away. Once the debt is gone you'll be able to take him somewhere fab, and the way you are going it will be for his 65th, not his 70th ;) .

    Love,

    I'm feeling a bit down today :(, sometimes it hits me how long we're going to be in this for, if we're ever actually going to get to the end. We have another 5.5 years to go and that's only if the interest rates stay as they are, I fully expect that once our payments are covering the standard mimimum the companies will start to add interest again making DFD much further away :confused: .

    I don't feel like this very often and I know I have so much in life to be happy about but I just can't shake off this "sorry for myself" mood. Sorry for moaning but I suppose that's what a diary is for :o .

    Anyway, I've walked to the shop this afternoon because I needed bread, milk and potatoes. I also bought chocolate digestives :o and spent £4.62 so my running total for the month is :

    8th July,

    Total spent = £90.91

    NSDs = 4
