Live on £4000 for a year - Part 3

My "all in" budget for next year is
Home (mortgage, council tax, insurance, utilities, water, phone) £9,450
Daily living (groceries, travel, eating out) £2,970
Entertainment £960
Holidays £990
Personal (clothes, books, ITunes, haircuts, gifts, medical and dental) £900
Total £15,270
Based on this, I'll need to earn £1,272.50 per month net as a minimum. Looks terrifying written down like that!
I've been playing with my spreadsheet and keep wanting to cut the budget amounts down, but know that I'll have/want to spend money on all these things next year. I've already had quite a few spending slippages this year so know I won't be able to stick to a tighter budget

Question for you wonderful peopel, When you make chicken stock, do you strain the water after boiling the carcass or not? This is my first attempt of making it, so any info is more than welcome.
Thanks

I usually strain the stock afterwards, sometimes if there is still a lot of chicken pieces in the sieve I pick these out and chuck them back in the stock, makes lovely gravy or soup/casserole base.0 -

Sorry to hear about your brother sophiesmum, but at least he was surrounded by love.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Sophiesmum - I don't know what to say! You have all been brilliant to be there to support him and to make his life the best possible including these last moments. Thinking of you!!!
Those of us who have chosen the hardest life are here to teach the others about love and those very special people are here normally for just for a short time as they already know all about there is to know as they are here just to help the rest of us on our journey. I am sure your brother was one of these special people and he was so lucky to find your family.
You are right marru he was a special person, he had a huge enthusiasm for life, he was happy, mischievous and carefree. He was 34 years old but still had the mind and innocence of a child due to his disability, he saw each new day as a new challenge and saw each new person as a new friend. Our lives are certainly richer for having had him in our family for the past 24 years, he will leave a huge gap behind but will also leave many happy memories. We have done our crying over the past weeks watching him slip away, now we are just celebrating his life.0 -
Sophiesmum - thinking of you all and sending hugs. You're brother is now at rest and free from pain, he was surrounded by those who loved him and made him happiest and there is nothing anyone could want more than that.
Take care and I'm sending an extra special thought to your mum xI reserve the right not to spend.
