I am soooooooooo not worldly wise! Furthest I've ever been was Corfu and my [STRIKE]bad[/STRIKE] worst spending habits needed 2 pairs of shoes to make a full set. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I began exploring the possibilities, but I think they charge £5 to join and then my 'Scottish Central Belt' paranoia kicked in and I was worried about people wanting to exchange babysitting services for pots of homemade jam and such like. Too many H&S and other legislative nightmare scenarios for my poor brain to cope with, so I never pursued any further. But don't lett me put you off :rotfl:
Well done on OH's [STRIKE]food forage[/STRIKE] parent visit! Nice haul! :beer:I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi Frunchkins,
First chance I have had to get online for a while. It hasn't been a good weekend here. Bro was rushed into Hospital Thursday evening with a major internal haemorrhage, he was given 7 blood transfusions but basically we were told that he is still critical and to expect the worst in terms of hours and days now. He desperately wanted to come home again so we got permission to have him ambulaced home and we are nursing him there again. It has been a very emotional time and very physically and mentally draining, me and mum are doing the nursing with daily district nurse visits to fill the morphine driver. He has had extra pain relief tonight so will be zonked out for a while. I have sneaked home for a couple of hours to check up on DD and OH, and to see what you are all up to. It is nice to have a little normality back again for a few hours.
I have taken time off work so I can be there as much as possible, my oldies are being very supportive of everything,:A they know my bro well from him visiting us here and are quite upset about it all.
I now have lots of posts to catch up on to see what you have all been up to:D0 -
Okay here goes, think I have forgotten half of what I just read already:rolleyes:
Jumblebee - hope the hand is recovering well, glad you still had a free thumb for the knicker challenge, and :j for mums dinners:D
Marru - sounds like you have been really busy with your batch cooking and meal planning.:T Enjoying reading about the course:D (and very surprised that you haven't yet got a new friend for bully boy piggy)
Bails - Hope the work on the house is going well,
Whitewing - How is mil getting on in her new flat?? Don't worry about getting DS to stay in bed longer, if he is anything like my 4 as soon as they started high school they suddenly developed the urge to stay in bed much longer at weekends:D Think it is all the homework, travelling, and carrying heavy bags round school all day:rolleyes:
Janey - loving your posts as always, chuckling at you and the cat out for a walk with the wheely bin:D
Nyk - Minimum rate around DD's friends for board is £50, between that and £70 seems to be about average. So think your DS is on a good deal:D
Welcome on board to skintlynne and woodyrocks:D
Lynda - glad you had a good holiday, can't believe you missed the rain, it has never stopped here for weeks:rolleyes:
Okay that's it the mind has gone blank now:o nice to catch up with everyone and get back to normal for a short while:D
Oh - £1 a day thingy - think it could be done for food, entertainment etc but everything?? No chance:rolleyes: One of us needs to get hold of the book to see exactly what was included in the challenge.I remain to be convinced that it can be done.

Just wanted to pop in and say g'night to you all before retiring into the tent. I am going to leave my bank cards at home tomorrow and make do with the change in my purse. Hopefully will get home early enough tomorrow to devise a proper plan of action.DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0

sophiesmum I hope you're doing ok today. Sorry to hear about your brother.
I did manage to forage for food elsewhere in the freezer, so we didn't starve last night. I was looking through the numbers I posted, and it'll actually work out a bit less than that total for me, as I only pay half my rent/council tax (bf pays the other half).
I feel out numbered by all the people living in Scotland- the West Country seems under represented. At least it is a bit milder here, so we save on heating0
