Hiya
If you were silly when you were 18 and you are now 24, then some of these debts may be statute barred. If you have not paid or otherwise acknowledged a debt IN WRITING in the last six years, then the creditor can ask you to pay but you do not have to.
It is small beer but look at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/protect/make-money, and you may be able to get another £20 worth of vouchers and freebies per month. Mystery shopping counts towards your income for benefit and tax purposes but not surveys or clicks.
Also, if you are not already signed up look at the local group on www.freecycle.org.
Is your ex the father of your child and can you get any maintenance from him?
Once you have the years no claims, check your insurance again and swap via www.quidco.com or one of the other comparision sites.
Finally, re gran, how many people in your family visit her during the week? Can you fix a bit of a rota, so you go less often but for a bit longer, which would reduce your petrol costs? I am sure everyone is feeling the pinch with the rise in petrol costs.
My ex is not the father, and tthe father refuses to pay anything.
There is not really anyone that bothers with my nan, it;s just me really, my mum lives with her but has really bad arthritis in her hands and finds it dificult to get dressed let alone cook, clean or do the shopping.
I dont really mind though, my nan always gives me stuff from the shopping and sometimes will chuck me the odd tenner, I dont like taking it but she's the type of person who gets offended if you dont take.0
