American Style Fridge Freezer?

Hello. I hope you can help me.

My family is doing up the kitchen, and we are looking to get an American Fridge Freezer (sometimes called a Side-By-Side Fridge Freezer).
These are what we want:

No Ice/Water dispenser in the door
Stainless Steel (or s.steel effect)
3-5 Year Warranty

Obviously we don't want to spend a fortune, but neither do we want something which is going to be unreliable. I would say a limit of £750-£800, including warranty.

We Have tried:
Dixons
Comet
Curries (Expensive monthly breakdown cover)
Boots
Sainsburys
Tesco

Does anyone know of any good websites or shops that sell these types of Fridge Freezers?

  • #1 choose the model look at all the makers and be confident what you want
#2 find an outlet that deals with graded stock ( these are appliances that have marks on and can be some what cheaper )
I don't know your area but Paul Davis in Bolton I bought an neff american fridge freezer retail 1999.00 paid 1199.00 cause it had a blemish (but have not found were it is after polishing it with Baby oil)
once you start searching graded stock your on your way

    hope this helps

    Hi,

I recently bought an American-style fridge from Pixmania, excellent price and snappy delivery. Product is installed and working a treat! :j
They have a pretty big selection to choose from, so you should find something within your price range.

    http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/10480/xx/xx/1856/46/criteresn.html?s=10480&m=xx&t=xx&categorieid=46&cat=1856&startrow=&sortBy=ASC&orderBy=Prix

    Miles.

Yes, I had a look at Pixmania, and they do indeed have some good prices, but they don't seem to offer extended warranties.

I found this company on eBay. The item price is good, and they offering up to 5 years extended warranty (although I don't know how much).
Would you trust these people? The warranty is 3rd-Party, could that be a problem when something goes wrong?

Just monitored three of these things where the bidding closed this afternoon...

Samsung RSH normal price £749 went for £471
Whirlpool normal price £799 went for £350
Samsung RSA normal price £599 went for £413

Condition varied - if you hunt carefully there are some unblemished ex-display models on this site.
