With you Tiger! If they are too sick for school, they are too sick for anything else. I make mine stay in bed all morning and can only have dry toast for lunch. It works!
Of course.... I need to know why he is going to the pub.......................... (before I call social services of course!)
And talking of pubs, can I have a drink. I have no care for the type, just make it alcoholic and as large as one can muster. And a straw.0 -

Goodness that did sound bad, didn't it
On Fridays after school, some of DH's teacher pals meet at a small village, family friendly, gastro pub. All lovely, roaring fires and little nooks. Some of the OH's and DC's join in too. We go every other week or two and the DC's love it. They get spoilt rotten and can also run around in the garden to let off steam.
Any chance of a nice Lagavulin, barkeep?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

I need something medicinal barkeep please.
Schools just phoned to say my eldest is not very well and could I fetch him. Got him home, he had lunch and was bouncing around to Cbeebies (on for the little 'un.) So i've sent him to bed with him throwing a tantrum about it, with a drink. I have reminded him that he will miss the disco this afternoon at school and he won't be able to go to the pub later on either, cue major tantrum. But as far as I am concerned if he is ill enough not to be at school then he has to be in bed to get better. Evil Mummy laugh mwah, ha, ha, ha!!
tiger my mum was the same her rule was if you wasnt well enough to go to school you cant go out.
i used to somehow always get ill on a sunday afternoon/night then make a complete recovery on a friday afternoon so i could go out the weekend.
when i was in secondary school i used to either bunk off the mornings/afternoons depending on the weather if i wanted to be hanging around outside or just fake an illness in the morning and go to school the last few lessons in the afternoon so i could go out roaming the streets with my mates.
my mum worked full time so couldnt take time off work to make sure i went to school so i used to leave for school in the morning wait for her to go to work then sneak home(that was untill neighbours grassed me up) or just sit round a friends house.
my school never phoned my mum they used to give me a letter to take home to her lol :rotfl: yeah right like she ever recieved it. i wouldnt have trusted me.
also when i was in the juniors i have fond memeries of my mum trying to drag me the 5min walk to school by my hair as i used to hate spelling/maths test after about 30mins of me grabing every lampost or front gate and clinging on for dear life my mum used to just give up and drag me back home again for a smacked bum and sent to my room. oh my poor mum lol im suprised i lived so long
when i first told her i was pregnant and when my stubbon toddler son gives me stroppy tantrams my mum used to laugh and say ohh the tables have turned, have fun.
so i know in the future when im going through the same thing i put her through she will be up their watching me laughing her butt offIf you want to see the rainbow ,you gotta put up with some rain0 -

A very genuine cold, fyp - not helped by having had to deliver groceries in the wintry weather of the last 10 days. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
